***You tell your friend in Spanish that what you don't like about the beach is all the "salt and flour" that stick to you. Flour=harina Sand=arena Give me a break!
***You don't understand what's for lunch at work. You just order what the girl in front of you ordered. But luckily, the time they served liver, the girl in front did not choose it.
***Teaching Sunday School is a feat you can accomplish only by having both English and Spanish manuals. And prayer.
***You try to express your testimony when out with the missionaries but have to settle for sounding like a four-year-old.
***You annoy your family by having "Spanish moods," which consist of translating phrases from our dinner conversations into Spanish, or just flat out speaking only in Spanish to everyone.
Example-
Laura: It's yummy!
Jen: Que rica!
Mom: Thanks
Jen: Gracias
Laura: Can you pass me the salt?
Jen: Pasa me la sal
Laura: Jen- stop it!
***At the volunteer job in the Perpetual Educational Fund call center you cannot understand some people on the phone and have to hand it over to another volunteer. Embarrassing? Yes. It's one of those times when your best is just not good enough. Ha ha!
***You've perfected the smile-and-nod to feign understanding.
